Forster Ranch Community Park

The Forster Ranch Community Park is located at 1845 Via Porpora in San Clemente, California. The park covers 1.5 acres and was opened in 1993. It is operated by the City of San Clemente Community Services Department. The Forster Ranch Community Park is a passive park with no organized activities, only passive recreation. The park hosts a variety of events throughout the year for residents to enjoy the outdoors like Movies in the Park and Concerts in the Garden. There are no bathrooms or playgrounds located on-site, but there are restrooms located within walking distance at the Forster Ranch Community Center.

The Forster Ranch Community Park is located one block north of El Camino Real on Via Porpora behind the San Clemente High School football fields. There are two entrances to the park, one from Via Porpora and one from Wisteria Way. There are restrooms located across Via Porpora from the park entrance and parking lot.*

Forster Ranch Community Park is open every day throughout the year, though there are times when certain areas are closed due to weather conditions or even natural disasters. There are plenty of hiking trails and picnic areas available here, as well as a number of other recreational amenities like playgrounds and ball fields. You'll also find restrooms on-site, which is particularly important for those who want to spend more than a few hours at this park.

The Community Park project is a $1.25 million investment into an already popular destination for the City's residents. This project will include the addition of three multi-use fields, one full-size practice football field, one youth-size practice football field, and a new parking lot with approximately 80 spaces. The park will also receive a new irrigation system, permanent restrooms, and a structure to house public restrooms and concessions.

The Community Park is also located adjacent to Laguna Niguel Regional Park, a regional open space area with trails and campsites along the Santa Ana River. The two parks are extremely close to each other providing users of both parks a variety of recreational opportunities in the city of San Clemente.

The Forster Ranch Community Park project will be located on approximately 13 acres of land north of El Camino Real and adjacent to the Ed Wilson Sports Fields (project completed in 2010). The proposed project site is within the City's natural flood control channel and therefore is not expandable.
