19-year-old Kerry Welsh of Glendora died Sunday after being t-boned in her vehicle the previous night when another vehicle flew through a stop sign and hit her car.
Kerry Welsh was headed to a friend's home to pick up her little sister from a birthday party when her vehicle was struck. The crash took place at the intersection of Vine and Hollenbeck avenues in West Covina. Welsh was taken to a nearby hospital where she died from her injuries.
Welsh was well regarded and had been athlete of the year, had a full-ride scholarship to Loyola Marymount University, and was going to be a doctor.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a nearby hospital. It is not know whether alcohol, drugs, or street racing played a part in the crash.
