In Lancaster, on Friday June 4th, a big rig and a Dodge Challenger collided leaving 4 dead and one critically injured in what appears to be a head-on collision.
The accident took place just after 9:00 am along Avenue G between 30th Street East and 20th Street East. A 62-year-old woman, the driver of the vehicle, another woman believed to be 59-years-old, a passenger, and two boys between the ages of 7 and 11 all died in the accident. Another 5 year old boy remains in critical condition. The driver of the big rig, a 44-year-old man, suffered only minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation and authorities question whether speed was a factor since empty roads during the pandemic have lead to higher speeds.
