A 57-year-old Woman Was Seriously Injured When She Was Struck by a Car in Torrance

At about 9:32 Tuesday morning, a 57-year-old woman was seriously injured when she was struck by a car in Torrance.

Officers, upon arrival, performed life-saving measures, including CPR, with assistance from a citizen. The woman was transported to a hospital.

The vehicle was a 1990 Honda Civic that was driving east on Torrance Boulevard when it struck the woman. The woman was crossing southbound outside of the crosswalk at the intersection of Torrance Boulevard and Amie Avenue.

An investigation is underway. It does not appear alcohol or drugs are a factor in the crash.
