Darrell Daniels is racked with guilt and extremely sorry for the victims and his wife who was driving the wrong direction after possibly being disoriented due to incorrect insulin levels in dealing with her diabetic condition.
On Friday, 58-year-old Sandra Daniels was driving in the wrong direction on Interstate 5 near Dairy Mart Road when she collided head-on with a city issued car containing San Diego Police Department detectives Jamie Huntley-Park, 33, and her husband Ryan Park, 32. All three died in the accident.
Darrell and Sandra had been married for 33 years. Darrell expressed his constant concern regarding his wife's medical condition, “Everyone who lives with a diabetic knows it, know insulin-dependent diabetic has this fear in the back of their mind that their sugar could drop in a critical moment when, you know, they could hurt themselves or someone else."
We at Cefali & Cefali extend our condolences to all those involved in the accident and to their family and friends.
