A head-on crash on Highway 18 around 8:32 pm Saturday killed 4 people and critically injured one other person.
A white 1994 Chevy Suburban and a 2021 Toyota Tundra collided and suffered major damage. The injured victim was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with critical injuries.
The incident took place just outside Apple Valley near Sierra Pelona Drive.
Traffic was shutdown for several hours as emergency personal extricated then airlifted the victim from the Toyota Tundra. Three people in the Suburban and one other person from the Tundra were pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation is under way.
