Talega is a Mexican restaurant in the San Clemente area. They make some of the best tacos and quesadillas around. They also have delicious margaritas! Their food is reasonably priced and their portions are huge. I visit Talega at least once a month with my friends and family because they always have such a great atmosphere!
This place is not like your typical Mexican restaurant. It's a casual, comfortable place that's great for relaxing after work or school, hanging out with friends, or even bringing the family. I've been going to this restaurant since I was in middle school and it's just as good today as it was then.
They have a large menu so there's something for everyone. My favorite dish is the Taco Burrito, which is a burrito stuffed with carne asada, beans, cheese, guacamole, lettuce, and sour cream. They also have great vegetarian options like the Quesadilla Burrito which comes with beans and cheese but you can add guacamole for only $1 extra! Their burritos are HUGE so be prepared to share with someone or take home leftovers!

Talega was originally opened in 2003 by Ernesto and Lourdes Castillo as a small Mexican market. With Lourdes' amazing cooking skills and Ernesto's great personality the business quickly grew. In 2006 they decided to open an adjoining restaurant where they could feed the hungry customers that kept coming in from the market next door. And it has been going strong ever since!
