ACCIDENT: Alamitos Beach on March 10, 2021

Car Crashes Through Facade and Parklet of Lord Windsor Coffee Shop in Alamitos Beach

At 3:30 pm Monday, a black SUV crashed into another car, and the façade and parklet of Lord Windsor coffee shop located on the corner of Third Street and Cerritos Avenue.  The coffee shop had just closed 30 minutes prior to the accident.

There was one patient transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

One commenter stated it was like a movie. A fire hydrant was sheared in front of the coffee with a fountain of water raining onto the street.  Windows were shattered.  A street sign was knocked down.  Outdoor furniture was covered with shards of glass.  A license plate was perched on an outdoor table.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and driving on a suspended license for a previous DUI conviction.

Lord Windsor Coffee shop had recently celebrated its nine-year anniversary at the Alamitos Beach location.
