Garden Grove: Ambulance Strikes Overhanging Tree While Transporting Patient

On Sunday while in route to the hospital, the Orange County Fire Authority came across a Faulk Ambulance that was involved in an accident while transporting a patient who was in critical condition.

It was reported that the ambulance lost control and crashed and side swiped a tree in the process. Fire fighters found the ambulance with two other fire fighters and an EMT inside trapped and injured. They were transported ta a local hospital. The critical condition patient was transferred to a new ambulance and transported.

ACCIDENT: San Juan Capistrano on December 12, 2021

Biker killed in crash on Ortega Highway in San Juan Capistrano

 

On Sunday around 9:59 a.m., a motorcyclist was killed in a single-vehicle traffic crash on the (74) Ortega Highway in San Juan Capistrano. The crash occurred near Casper's Park Road heading eastbound.

On Monday, an autopsy was pending to determine whether a medical emergency might have caused the crash. The biker was identified as 73-year-old Bruce Fickling.

ACCIDENT: Irvine on December 9, 2021

Driver Killed in Fiery Crash on 405 in Irvine

 

Around 1:30 pm on Thursday, a driver lost control of their vehicle heading southbound on the 405 Freeway in Irvine. After loosing control, the vehicle veered toward the center median and was broadsided by another vehicle near the Irvine Center Drive off-ramp.

The driver may have lost control because they were hydroplaning on slick pavement and going too fast for the rainy weather conditions.

Following the crash, the driver was trapped in their vehicle which caught fire and they were pronounced dead at the scene.

ACCIDENT: Murrieta on December 6, 2021

Elliott Uhrich Killed in Vehicle Crash on Interstate 215 Murrieta, CA

 

Around 5:40 pm on Monday on the southbound I-215 near Clinton Keith Road, Elliott Uhrich of Murrieta was fatally injured while riding in the back of a medical supply van which collided with another vehicle.

According to reports, the cargo van, traveling at about 60 mph encountered traffic and braked causing the vehicle to veer to the right shoulder where it collided with a parked 2009 Nissan Maxima. The Maxima was occupied by a 30-year-old Temecula man who was not hurt.

The driver of the van, 47-year-old Angel Pineda of Murrieta, suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from Rancho Springs Medical Center in Temecula.

Ulliott Uhrich was 75.

ACCIDENT: El Cerrito on December 2, 2021

Cajalco Road Closes After Tractor-Trailer Overturns

 

Around 10:00 am on Thursday at Cajalco Road near Temescal Canyon Road, in the unincorporated community, a tractor-trailer overturned. The accident resulted in seriously injuring the trucker-driver and blocking the roadway.

It was reported that the big rig jackknifed on a bend in the road, going over on its side, and luckily missed other vehicles when it did.

The trucker was found trapped and incoherent in the rig. Firefighters managed to extricate the driver and the driver was taken to the hospital with major injuries.

At about 10:45 am, the tractor-trailer was turned back upright and removed.

During this period, Cajalco was completely shut down in both directions from Eagle Canyon to Temescal Canyon Road.

ACCIDENT: Orange, CA on November 28, 2021

Two-Car Collision on Chapman Avenue Leaves Three Injured

A two car collision occurred Sunday night critically injuring three people.

The incident occurred in Orange at the intersection of South Earlham Street and Chapman Avenue at around 7:33 pm.

It was reported that a black Nissan and a Scion collided. One person was trapped and two others were injured. It is not known what caused the accident.

All three people were taken to hospitals for the treatment of serious injuries.
