Fatal Bicycle Collision on South Bristol Street in Santa Ana

 

Friday morning around 6:34 am, a fatal accident occurred when a vehicle struck a bicycle.

The accident occurred at the intersection of McFadden Avenue and South Bristol Street in Santa Ana. The impact of the collision caused first responders to declare 24-year-old Justin Sanders dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and thus the incident has been declared a hit-and run crash. Officials are presently working to identify the driver.

76-year-old killed in driveway after 1935 Chrysler rolls over him near Temecula

 

Just west of the Temecula and Murrieta city limits at 22305 Corte Bonita, near De Luz Road, a man was killed when his vehicle ran over him.

The man was 76-years-old. He was moving his 1935 Chrysler Airflow out of an enclosed trailer on his property. After backing the vehicle onto his driveway, the senior removed himself from behind the Airflow's wheel, got out of the vintage vehicle, and failed to secure it. According to the preliminary investigation, the car rolled onto him, and he died at the scene.

Two Children Killed in Two-vehicle Wreck in Menifee

 

At approximately 5:20 pm, two children were killed when they were ejected from their vehicle in a head-on collision.

16-year-old Aaliyah Girard and 1-year-old Legend Aries Girard of San Jacinto were the victims when two vehicles collided after one veered out of its lane.

The collision involved a Chevrolet Silverado that was towing a trailer in which the children were passengers and a Ford F-150 pickup. Both vehicles were headed west on Domenigoni Parkway near Lindenberger Road when the Ford diverted out of its lane and struck the Chevrolet tipping it over and ejecting the two children.

The Ford was driven by an 18-year-old from Corona.

Unfortunately, the children were not properly restrained in their vehicle.

One Person Deceased in a Multiple Vehicle Collision in Oceanside

 

At approximately 2:20 pm Tuesday, a collision occurred involving multiple vehicles at the intersection of Jefferson Ave. and Hwy 78 westbound.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive male inside a 2006 Lexus. Paramedics who were on scene later pronounced the 60-year-old driver of the Lexus deceased. There were also two victims in a 2000 Toyota 4 Runner. They were evaluated and released with minor injuries.

Evidence at the scene and witness statements suggested the Lexus was traveling southbound on Jefferson Ave away from Vista Way towards the 78 overpass at a high rate of speed. The vehicle ran a red light, causing it to collide with the Toyota. The 4 Runner was in the process of making a left turn on a green arrow on Jefferson Ave to westbound 78. Due to the collision, the Lexus veered to the right and collided head on with a light pole. It was reported the driver was not wearing his seatbelt when he collided.

An investigation is ongoing, and it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor.

Driver Injured in Crash on PCH in Newport Beach

 

At approximately 9:30 pm Sunday, a driver was hospitalized after a vehicle crashed into a traffic signal. The driver was taken to a hospital by paramedics.

The accident occurred on PCH at Bayside Drive. The westbound lanes were shutdown for hours. Crews needed to ensure the traffic signal was safe and not compromised.

Pedestrian Struck, Killed Near Camp Pendleton Gate in Fallbrook

 

On Saturday night at 9:12 pm, a pedestrian was hit and killed in a crash.

The accident took place at 575 Ammunition Road which is located near the Fallbrook gate to Camp Pendleton.

No further information has been made available regarding this incident.

Motorcyclist Killed in Crash With Van in Garden Grove

 

A little before 6:30 p.m., a crash between a motorcyclist and a van occurred at Haster Street and Lampson Avenue.

Police determined the van caused the collision when it made an "unsafe" turn into oncoming traffic and collided with the motorcycle.

When paramedics arrived, they found the motorcyclist dead at the scene.

The driver of the van remained at the scene. Detectives are investigating to determine if alcohol or drugs are involved in the crash.

Woman, 18, Killed in Multi-vehicle Crash in Oceanside

Around 11:12 p.m. at the intersection of El Camino Real and Fire Mountain Drive in Oceanside, a multi-vehicle collision killed an 18-year-old teenager.

One driver was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.

It was reported that one vehicle was going southbound on El Camino Real when it crossed the center median then struck a fire hydrant before traveling into oncoming traffic and colliding with two vehicles heading northbound. The collision caused one of the northbound vehicles to roll over.

Unfortunately, Oceanside resident Dalila Jebrail who was one of the northbound drivers was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male driver heading southbound who crossed over the median is being investigated on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was also injured and taken to the hospital.

Lyft Driver Arrested After Crashing and Killing 70-Year-Old Passenger

 

At around 7:00 a.m., a Lyft driver fell asleep at the wheel while carrying his 70-year-old passenger. The vehicle crashed into a light pole near Jamboree Road and Patriot Way.

The passenger, Margie Quibol of Tustin, died from her injuries.

The driver has been fired from Lyft and also charged with manslaughter. Lyft has said it will assist law enforcement however it can.

Man in 80s Dies After Being Struck by Pickup in El Monte

 

A collision was reported at 5:13 a.m. between a man crossing the street and a pickup truck. The El Monte man in his 80's later died at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center.

The incident occurred on Durfee Avenue just south of Schmidt Road.

The driver remained at the scene and was not arrested.
